About MDP
Mpilias, Dionysiou & Partners (MDP) was founded in 2023 by local engineers Michael Dionysiou and Nikolas Mpilias. Drawing on their extensive experience and collaborating with local architects, designers, and builders, MDP has made its mark on the territory, successfully delivering a diverse range of projects, including schools, museums, fast-food outlets, clinics, and many more exciting projects currently in the works.
Michael Dionysiou
Director/Senior Engineer
With over 14 years’ experience as a structural engineer in Darwin, Michael has been responsible for the detailed structural design, documentation and construction verification for several projects around the Territory. These include bridges, multistorey residential, community, health, commercial and remote projects through to numerous structural investigations and reports.
Michael grew up in Darwin with exposure to the local construction industry from an early age. Prior to completing his studies, he worked on local construction sites gaining valuable knowledge on the practical side of engineering. This has provided him with a strong footing to his career and has helped shape his appreciation for practical, simple and economic designs.
Nikolas Mpilias
Structural Engineer
With a practical background in construction, Nikolas has been involved in conceptual structural design and in detailed design and documentation, as well as with construction verification of numerous projects across the NT. These projects include prestigious residences, cyclonic shelters, major building modifications and renovations, multistorey residential, commercial, industrial and condition assessments of existing structures.
Passionate about structural engineering, Nikolas is continually intrigued by the problem-solving and critical thinking skills required to deliver safe, practical, and efficient design solutions.
Yianni Lolias
Senior Engineer
Yianni has over ten years’ experience as a Structural Engineer in Darwin. He has been responsible for the detailed structural design, documentation, and construction verification for a variety of projects including institutional and commercial buildings, and residential developments. His projects range from sports stadiums, schools and warehouses to multistorey units and prestigious residences.
Yianni is committed to finding the best outcomes for projects and enjoys working with clients, builders, contractors and architects to provide cost effective and practical designs/solutions.

Parash Joshi
Graduate Engineer
With engineering experience on-site and in the design field, Parash has been involved in conceptual structural design and in detailed design and documentation, as well as with construction verification of numerous projects in NT. These projects include residences, major building modifications & renovations, and condition assessments of existing structures.
Driven by a deep passion for structural engineering, Parash takes up the challenges and learning that come with the process of structural design and construction certification.
Amrit Ksherti
Graduate Engineer
Amrit has been leading the charge on the NT Parks and Wildlife Asset Inspections, in which he has travelled and inspected over 256 assets across the NT. Amrit is gaining and applying knowledge of defects which effect a variety of structures whilst also travelling and exploring the greatest national parks the NT has to offer.
